The Duke’s Affair – Part Two [Complited]

“Well, if you see this, you’ll know your kitten is not just good at shooting!” Simon Ximu laughed, handing Dean a paper bag. Inside was a gleaming gold trophy and a red certificate: “5th XXX Club, Women’s Amateur Extreme Car Race, 1st Place, Ye Ye! Date: October X, 200X.”

A trophy from last night? An extreme car race? Ye Ye? First place? Even Jones was stunned. This seemingly delicate Eastern girl, who probably weighed no more than 50 kg, could be so capable!?

Dean looked at the trophy in his hands, smiling awkwardly. His Ye Ye, excellent in dance, appearance, marksmanship, and now car racing… How many more skills did she have that he didn’t know about? But then he thought, with such driving skills, if Ye Ye hadn’t been injured in her left hand, she would have easily avoided the accident… Regret began to brew in his heart again, regretting his harshness the previous night…

“By the way, the appraisal team said if it wasn’t for the Lamborghini, if this Lamborghini hadn’t been modified for racing with top-notch shock absorption and safety features, Ye Ye might not have survived!” Simon Ximu added.

“Send the car back to the original factory, get a new one, and modify it back to its original state!” Dean said softly.

“It’s already been sent back, but the car’s owner is Long Yu,” Simon Ximu continued, “And the media has already started to pay attention…”

If Long Yu and Dean were involved, this would undoubtedly become the most shocking scandal in Europe, if not the world…

“Long Yu again!” Dean furrowed his brows. What was the relationship between Ye Ye and Long Yu? If they were lovers, why was Ye Ye still a virgin when she was with him? If not, why would Long Yu let Ye Ye drive such an expensive car?

“Deal with the perpetrator, and as for the car, after it’s fixed, send it back to Aohua Tower! Lock down the news; I don’t allow any media, including Long Yu’s side, to leak even a hint of the accident!” Dean commanded. His woman shouldn’t be driving another man’s car! He wouldn’t allow it!

“Okay.” Jones turned to handle the deranged maid. Getting rid of such an obsessive and hysterical maid was not a bad thing; who knows what other harm she might cause if left alive! For the Fu family, getting rid of an exceedingly ordinary woman was just too easy! “I’ll head back to the branch office; there’s a design bidding meeting today,” said Ximen Xu. “Yes, bring Nangong Xun here,” said Dean, who planned to spend some time with Ye Ye, and with the grand construction of Shengshi Haoting about to commence, he needed someone to share the workload. “I was just about to suggest that! Haha! I’m off now, remember to eat your breakfast on the table!” Ximen Xu chuckled as he closed the door behind him.

Three hours later, a deranged female patient drove off a cliff… No one knew why, nor did anyone care about the outcome. It was merely a car accident caused by a lunatic… [From Passion to Burning Love: Chapter Sixty-Six, Awakening vs. Revelation]

Ye Ye groggily opened her eyes; her head hurt, her body ached, her arm was in pain, everything hurt! “Ouch—pain—hiss…” Ye Ye let out a low moan as she sucked in a breath. Dean, standing by the window, hung up the phone after Jones’ report, a cold smile playing on his lips. Only death would suffice as an apology to Ye Ye!

Suddenly, he noticed Ye Ye looking around with large, pitiful eyes, whimpering in pain… Ye Ye saw a figure standing against the light by the window; she couldn’t make out his face, but she knew it was a man… Dean approached Ye Ye step by step, watching her face regain vitality, though still weak, it seemed as if she had been reborn… Ye Ye recognized the approaching man—it was Huo, that ruthless man, now approaching with a hint of tenderness… She remembered the car accident… Dean appeared… Could it be he who saved her?

Dean sat by Ye Ye’s bedside and leaned in to kiss her snow-white lips, “Welcome back, my little kitten!” His deep, magnetic voice was filled with a tender glow in his lake-blue eyes… Ye Ye was moved; she knew she couldn’t blame or hate Dean for his ruthlessness because of that sentence… But she couldn’t forgive him that easily either… So, she turned her head away, ignoring Dean.

Dean’s heart began to pound—was her ignoring him a sign that she had lost her memory? He immediately called for a doctor to examine Ye Ye. “Miss, do you feel any discomfort?” the doctor asked after the examination. “Yes,” Ye Ye exclaimed, and Dean’s face immediately tensed. “I hurt all over!” Ye Ye said. It was just pain, and Dean relaxed instantly. “Besides the pain, do you feel nauseous or have any internal discomfort?” the doctor continued. “No, does being hungry count as internal discomfort?” Ye Ye blinked and asked. The doctor, amused by her adorable response, chuckled, “Do you know who you are?” Ye Ye was puzzled by the question, “Of course, I’m Ye Ye!” The doctor was relieved but still cautious, “Do you know who he is?” pointing at the stern-faced Dean.

Ye Ye didn’t understand the doctor’s intention, but upon seeing Dean’s face, she felt anger from the bottom of her heart. She turned her head away, pouting, “I don’t know him!” “What? You don’t know me?” Dean saw the petulance in her eyes; he was sure Ye Ye was just being stubborn, not amnesic! “Miss, you really don’t recognize him? If so, we might have to perform a craniotomy to help you recover your memory!” the doctor said, feigning seriousness. “What? A craniotomy—no, no, no—I recognize him—he’s Dean-Ho-Fuken! I recognize him, he’s just a damn bastard!” Ye Ye muttered the last part. Dean heard it but decided not to argue with a patient—wait until she recovers, then they’ll settle the score!

The doctor, seeing the softened expression on Dean’s face, confirmed, “Sir, I assure you, the lady is fine! Just make sure she rests, takes her medication, changes her dressings on time, and avoids strenuous activities; she’ll be alright!” “Good, you may leave,” Dean commanded in a low voice. The doctor exited.

Dean, seeing Ye Ye still ignoring him, took out the breakfast Ximen Xu had brought—a thermos of lean meat congee made by a Chinese chef. He poured some into a bowl and handed it to Ye Ye, signaling her to eat. Ye Ye pointed to her injured left hand with her right, indicating she could only use one arm, and looked at Dean for help. Dean, who had never served anyone in his life, felt awkward but couldn’t bear to see Ye Ye hungry and in pain, so he sat by her side, awkwardly feeding her congee with a spoon.
