Crazy Smartphone – Part One

“You all deserve to die!” A voice filled with icy fury seemed to come from the depths of the earth. Lin Feng would not tolerate anyone insulting his mother, nor would he allow his greatest secret to be exposed. These detestable bastards might have seen his secret, so he had to take drastic measures to ensure their silence. And dead men tell no tales, making this the safest option. Now, he didn’t mind showing his true strength in front of a group of corpses. With the Swift Wind Boots enhancing his agility and speed, and his recent improvements in mental strength, the effects were even more pronounced. Not just the attacks of ordinary people, even the speed of professional boxers would seem like slow motion to him once he activated his power. With such a significant speed advantage, ambushing anyone unaware of his abilities would be as easy as child’s play. A flash of fierce light passed between Lin Feng’s eyes as he harbored murderous intent. 81 wild monsters? The idea of wealth had led them to thoroughly scout out his family’s background in just one day. Moreover, from their whispered conspiracies earlier, it was clear they had long decided that, if necessary, they would not hesitate to break into his home and rob it. As for his and his mother’s safety, they had casually marked it off as expendable, already planning to kill them to cover their tracks. His mother’s safety was his Achilles’ heel. What’s more, these shameless thugs, right in front of him, were brazenly plotting such vile acts, treating him as if he didn’t exist. “You… really… all deserve to die!” Lin Feng slightly lowered his head, his eyes flashing with a strange light, scanning his enemies with just a glance from the corner of his eye. His clothes began to flutter without any wind, a strong airflow surging around his body. Lin Feng’s aura instantly overwhelmed the group of ruffians. Their morale was hit, and in their surprise and anger, they started to shout and curse. The leaders, Xiao Qiang and Dai Zong, cursed loudly, “Fuck! You dare to—” Perhaps the most regrettable thing Xiao Qiang and his group had ever done was to encounter Lin Feng and decide to rob him. They relied on their strong backing, usually acting arrogantly in Yushan City, otherwise, Dai Zong wouldn’t have been so bold in planning such evil deeds. But now, regret was too late, and unless they hit a brick wall, they might not come to their senses. They thought their numbers would make dealing with Lin Feng easy. Armed with weapons, they closed in on him, their faces showing their greed as if Lin Feng was nothing more than a fat lamb ready for slaughter. In their eyes, Lin Feng was no different from a wallet dropped on the street. As the circle around him tightened, the ‘lamb’ seemed to be paralyzed with fear, staying still. However, just as they reached out to grab him, Lin Feng suddenly vanished from their encirclement. Simultaneously, their wrists tightened, and their daggers, now out of control, changed direction and stabbed towards their comrades beside them. Thud, thud, thud… Several dull thumps later, an even stranger scene unfolded. The ruffians, forming a circle, stabbed each other in the back one by one, completing a full circle, bizarrely ‘committing collective suicide’ and dying. The lookout at the alley entrance, hearing the commotion, rushed back. Seeing his comrades bizarrely dead in pools of blood, he was first stunned, then, gathering courage, checked the breath of one of them to confirm they were indeed dead. He screamed in shock, collapsing into the blood, muttering incoherently. A cold snort suddenly exploded beside him. He turned around to look, but there was no one. Trembling with fear, he tried to get up to run, but the cold snort came again from his other side. He turned in fright, still seeing no one, but the cold voice seemed to follow him, sounding from another direction. The alley was clearly empty, yet a ghostly voice haunted him, and with his comrades lying dead in blood, he was scared out of his wits, letting out a strange cry before collapsing backward, dead from sheer terror. Only then did Lin Feng’s ghostly figure appear from the side. His face was grim as he scanned the bodies on the ground, ensuring he left no trace of himself, before using his swift footwork to disappear from the alley’s other end. A slight breeze picked up, swirling a black tape near the trash pile, which danced in the air and silently fell onto the face of one of the dead. Moments later, black smoke rose eerily from each corpse, spiraling upwards and forming a cloud that seemed reluctant to disperse but gradually thinned out, vanishing into the void, and the bodies disappeared as well. Only bright switchblades and the thugs’ wallets and jewelry were left scattered on the ground, looking quite odd. A few blocks away, Lin Feng walked calmly along the main road, casually tossing a pair of white gloves into a trash can as he passed. These gloves were worn during his killing spree, instinctively put on when the killing intent surged within him. His face finally relaxed with a cold smile, regaining some normalcy, though his hands, tucked into his pockets, were trembling uncontrollably. In his mind, the familiar system prompt sound lingered incessantly. This eerie system sound made Lin Feng once again feel uneasy about the origin of Niu Niu. As he planned the deaths of the seven ruffians, the long-lost system prompt echoed with a series of numbers: Player ‘Ghostly Hand’ kills a low-level wild monster, gains 50 experience points, gains 5 character points; Player ‘Ghostly Hand’ kills a low-level wild monster, gains 50 experience points, gains 5 character points; … The prompt repeated seven times, his heart tightening with each one! These seven ruffians were actually considered low-level wild monsters by Niu Niu?! What was going on?! Could it be that his current identity had truly morphed into a character in a game? Yet, everything around him was clearly real! What was even more baffling was that at the moment his killing intent surged and anger flared, Niu Niu seemed to make a small move. In that instant, her AI system automatically presented him with over a dozen ‘killing schemes’ to choose from, one of which was ‘Staging a suicide scene to lure enemies into a trap’. He instinctively chose this one, and then, as if under some influence, became extremely excited, executing the actions as if they had been practiced hundreds of times. Was killing a few small-time thugs like chopping down low-level monsters? Things were getting more and more interesting… It’s the weekend again, wishing all book lovers a happy weekend!!! 82 Naming Ceremony (1) Lin Feng’s approach to life was simple: if he couldn’t figure out a problem, he would just stop thinking about it for the time being. Unless it was a matter of life and death, he would often apply the spirit of ‘Ah Q’, self-hypnotizing to forget about it.

Now, killing someone had turned into something as bizarre as killing a wild monster in a game. He couldn’t figure it out, so he chose to selectively forget again. Moreover, when he mustered the courage to return to the crime scene, the bodies of the seven thugs had long vanished, leaving only some personal items behind. He didn’t witness the bodies dissolving into black smoke, which left him full of speculation, unsure if he had really killed those seven thugs. Such strange events naturally couldn’t be mentioned to others; he had to keep it to himself. Besides, as the saying goes, ‘When there are too many lice, they don’t bite.’ Ever since Lin Feng picked up Niu Niu, he had encountered enough bizarre events that his nerves were somewhat numbed. Thus, whether he had truly killed someone became an ambiguous matter in his heart. However, this wasn’t entirely without benefits; at least he was no longer as fearful and anxious about having killed someone.
